With help from letters of indulgence, Heinrich Findelkind was able to inspire numerous people to donate money. We have saved and kept original documents from that time.
As a way of absolving your sins, letters of indulgence played a large role in the middle ages. Heinrich Findelkind recieved letters of indulgence from the church and with them absolved people of their sins in exchange for yearly contributions to the Hospice and chapel. The original documents from the middle ages are currently located in the Stift Stams.
