The venerable brotherhood of St. Christoph, which was founded in 1386 in picturesque St. Christoph am Arlberg, has existed for more than six centuries. It saw the light of day as a community of selfless helpfulness and heartfelt compassion. Today, after 637 eventful years, the Brotherhood of St. Christoph is not only the oldest charitable association, but also a world-renowned institution with almost 23,500 members, affectionately referred to as sisters and brothers.
Since its re-establishment in 1962 through the inspirational collaboration of Arnold Ganahl and Stefan Kruckenhauser, the Brotherhood has acted steadily and to date has distributed more than €20 million to families in financial need who have been struggling through circumstances through no fault of their own.
During the winter months, the weekly meetings of the brotherhood take place in St. Christoph, as was the custom in the 14th century. But as of this year, the Brotherhood has picked up its traditional roots and gone on the move again. These gatherings serve not only as harmonious encounters between the sisters and brothers, but also as a platform for welcoming new members.
In addition to generous monetary donations, the members of the Brotherhood also appreciate the precious art of interpersonal encounters within their community.

“Fiestravaganza International Music Academy” The “Fiestravaganza International Music Academy” (FIMA) is a groundbreaking event taking place in Berlin from 10th to 16th July 2023. This unique piano academy is organized in collaboration with the Hosted by the renowned Bechstein Music World Singapore, C. Bechstein and the Carl Bechstein Foundation, it is primarily aimed at emerging talent from the Asia-Pacific region, particularly Singapore, and offers them a wealth of opportunities usually found in the early stages of their careers are difficult to reach.
FIMA participants have the unique opportunity to exchange ideas with respected lecturers and guest speakers in master classes and seminars and to gain international recognition through performances.
A real highlight is the exclusive use of Bechstein’s extensive collection of historical keyboard instruments. The fascinating spectrum ranges from clavichords from the baroque period to fortepianos from the Mozart era and other early romantic instruments. With its intensive one-week program, FIMA strives to develop versatile musicians and thus clearly stands out from other festivals.
The grandiose FIMA closing ceremony on July 15, 2023 will be performed by selected young talents from the Academy together with the visionary pianist Shaun Choo and his powerful orchestra, the Camerata Fiestravaganza. Under the impressive direction of the renowned American conductor Evan – Alexis Christ, three extraordinary piano concerts will be heard on this evening.
It should also be mentioned that Shaun Choo, who has also performed several times at the Kunsthalle am Arlberg, is known personally and has a close connection. The shared history and trust between Shaun Choo and FIMA add an extra personal touch to this musical event.
The Camerata Fiestravaganza consists of around 40 talented musicians from different cultures and ethnic groups, most of whom are currently studying at the renowned Berlin music academies: Universität der Künste, Hochschule für Musik Hans Eisler and Barenboim-Said Akademie. They are a true blend of musical excellence and diversity that ensures an inspiring performance.
