Pilgrimage

All paths lead over the Arlberg

Pilgrimage has become more favoured in recent decades, especially the Trail of St. James (Camino de Santiago trail). It is both an individual and a shared form of spiritual journey. The pilgrims‘ way is just as important as the goal. Motives for going on pilgrimage, as well as the formation content are highly varied.

The Arlberg is a central waypoint and the Maiensee, at 1,865 meters, is the highest point of the Trails of St. James, leading to Santiago de Compostela from Germany, Austria, Hungary and North Italy. Pilgrims can still receive a reduced meal and shelter at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel.
