The children who came out of western Tirol and passed St. Christoph would go back to the chapel to get a talisman.
They would carve a piece out of the Christophorus that stood behind the chapel.
He would also sometimes be called the giant from the Arlberg. His feet would consistently need repairs from local wood workers.
The “Giant from the Arlbeg” unfortunatley did not survive the fire in the Chapel in 1957.
