Work in the Distance

Every year large numbers of children between the ages of 7 and 17 moved towards Bodensee and Oberschwaben.
They worked there for food and lodging and became a small Obulus, often times for new clothing.
No political circumstance, territorial changes, or civil unrest (for centuries) could stop the train of the Schwaben Children.
Only after the second World War and the consequent circumstances provided the possibilty to affect change.
It is also noteworthy that at the same time children from east Switzerlan moved to Oberschwaben.
